War Horse

Things have been so busy around here with the holidays and other things that I haven't even gotten around to posting about the movie War Horse that we were able to go and see at the beginning of December. (I know, that was last month, but like I said, things have been busy).

We did take all of our girls to go and see this movie and they all really liked it.
War Horse is a live action film based on the popular novel. The movie is beautifully filmed and follows the poignant story closely, but parents should know the movie contains intense war violence throughout. My girls were fine with the war scenes they didn't think it was scary or anything, just loud.

War Horse is based on a kids/young adult novel by Michael Morpurgo. The story is of a remarkable horse and his relationship with humans he comes in contact with.
This film is beautiful and stunning to watch. The scenery is beautiful.  War violence is heavy throughout the movie. We see soldiers shot, stabbed, gassed and more. However, there is very little blood and gore.  Some kids might be scared because it is so loud and a little violent but if your kids aren't unsettled by that then it can really open up things for conversations.  On our way home we all talked about war and the movie really helped us have an educational experience.

Overall, we had a great experience and definitley recommend this movie if you're looking for a beautiful film that teaches of love, loyalty, and friendship. Definitely 2 thumbs up from our household!
